Empowering.
Collaborate. Support.

Empowering SEND families with knowledge, support, and advocacy, we ensure every child's voice is heard. Run by neurodiverse volunteers with lived experience, we understand the challenges firsthand and stand as a dedicated SEN family. We provide accessible events for parents, carers, children, and young people with SEND—no diagnosis necessary. Through workshops, events, and community connections, we help families navigate the SEND journey with confidence. Committed to a child-centered approach, we champion SEND law, mental health, and accountability to create a fair and inclusive future for all.

With the Right Support, Great Things Can Happen

Our vision is to empower families with the knowledge and support they need to advocate for their children, ensuring every child and young person reaches their full potential. As a team of neurodiverse volunteers with lived experience, we are passionate about guiding families through the SEND journey. With a deep understanding of educational, health, and mental health needs, we recognize the power of knowledge—especially in SEN law—when advocating for a child or young person's rights and future.

What We Offer

At the heart of our group is a commitment to providing help, support, and guidance in a safe and welcoming space for SEND families. We exist to prevent isolation and loneliness, ensuring that no parent or carer feels alone on this journey. Here, we come together to share both our successes and challenges without fear of judgment—because every experience matters, and support makes all the difference.  The group had organically been named by parents, carer and YP as their send family.

Coffee mornings with Professionals

We provide coffee mornings and breakfast sessions for families and caregivers to gather, offering a space for respite where they can converse openly, share joyful moments, and express concerns without fear of judgment. We also invite professionals to join these coffee and breakfast gatherings. The group events are guided by a consultative model, ensuring that both the activities and guest speakers align with the needs and preferences of the families.

Letter Templates

Our group serves a diverse demographic, with many families from disadvantaged communities. To ensure that no family is left behind or faces barriers to accessing support due to financial constraints, we have created a dedicated section with free templates available for easy access. These resources are organized in one location for convenience. We believe that financial circumstances should never prevent individuals from receiving the support, help, or guidance they need.

Fun activities for everyone

The group has experienced significant growth over the years, expanding from the founder managing it from her conservatory to now operating across multiple locations. As the group has developed, our offerings have extended beyond coffee mornings. We actively listen to the needs and preferences of the families and tailor our activities based on demand and requirements. Our goal is to ensure that every family has access to events, helping to combat isolation and loneliness. We are also committed to ensuring that no young person or child is left without support, providing a variety of activities based on the specific needs of the group.

Support navigating the system

The core of the group, since its inception, has been centred around providing assistance, advice, and support to families navigating the challenging and complex SEND system. Our aim is to offer practical guidance and solutions to help ease the process. This section is dedicated to simplifying the journey by sharing helpful tips, ideas, and useful links, making it easier for families to access the support they need.

What Our Families Say

Tonight has been lovely.  My son gets extremely overwhelmed within a busy environment but tonight was nice for us all, we could chill and watch our children enjoy themselves in a calm setting, being surrounded with people who get our situation makes it enjoyable also. thankyou so much for organising this x

Parent

I would like to say how wonderful this was. It was a total life line for my children - it generated a routine and the first thing out of my sons mouth every Monday morning was "is it MAPA Monday?"
It also saved me as I was very concerned as to what I'd be able to do with him, given his level of anxiety.
I would personally like to thank all of those involved in organising and hope/pray this will be available again in years to come x

Parent

I am so grateful to have recently come across such a wonderful friendly group where my son can finally be himself and be involved in activities that we just couldn't before due to his need's. He now no longer misses out because of his disability which is amazing.
I couldn't be more Thankful
